BIM meets project management
Project management or BIM management?
Please note: the Management Seminars Part I & II require a good to very good knowledge of German!
BIM offers project management better communication, quality control and enables the progress of the 3D model to be closely tracked during the planning phase, which enables improved assessment of design and cost progress. Building on the fundamentals from the BIM Basic Knowledge seminar (Professional Certification Foundation) and your practical project experience, you can now acquire the buildingSMART/VDI certification as a BIM Management Practitioner. The application-related training, based on the international buildingSMART framework curriculum, the VDI guidelines 2552 8.2 and 8.3 and current practical requirements, is fully aimed at practical implementation and acquisition of skills in operational and strategic BIM management.
Project control and BIM management!
Indeed, recent tenders show that clients are increasingly viewing the requirements for traditional project management and BIM management as an integrated function. According to AHO Issue 9, BIM management and project management remain separate services, but their processes and tasks are becoming increasingly intertwined in the project context.
BIM management lays the foundation for the smooth implementation of BIM processes, especially at the beginning of a project. This includes, for example, establishing intervals for data handovers, model reviews, and report creation. During the project, BIM management ensures that all participants provide their data on time, thus enabling seamless digital project management. Do these tasks sound familiar?
Contents of the BIM Practitioner Management training course
In BIM management or information management (according to VDI 2552 sheet 7) you are - in addition to the BIM implementation in the company - in the context of the project management process mainly entrusted with the recording of the customer's information requirements as well as the definition of the BIM goals and applications. You are responsible for the organizational tasks for the definition, implementation, compliance and documentation of the BIM processes over the entire life cycle of a building. At the same time, information management is authorized as the contact person for the client to select and set up a Common Data Environment (CDE).
