Advanced courses

Are there any advanced courses already?

Yes! We are in the starting blocks for the Professional Certification Practitioner (Coordination and Management) certification. For the time being, this will be implemented as a web or face-to-face seminar. Following the seminar, participants (who have also met all eligibility requirements) will be eligible to sit for the exam or exam day.

Are there any prerequisites for the Practitioner courses?

Yes, there are! On the one hand, all persons must have a buildingSMART certificate "Professional Certification Foundation". Should you wish to attend the Coordination Practitioner, competencies in object-oriented model building are also required.

Can I get credit for the 2.5-day courses toward the new 5-day Practitioner seminars?

Currently, our seminars, both coordination and management, are designed for two and a half days. However, in order to be certified, it must be 5 days, spread over 2 weeks. Participants of our previous Professional Seminars (Coordination and Management) do not have to start from scratch. Here we specifically offer the build-up (i.e. another 2.5 days)!

How does a Practitioner Seminar work?

In a total of 40 teaching units, lectures provide the necessary theoretical knowledge, practical demonstration an understanding of the implementation and own work in training the practical experience. The first 2.5 days conclude with an "exercise assignment". You work on this in self-study time at home for the later block of 2.5 days.

How does an exam work?

Following the seminar, participants (who have also met all eligibility requirements) are eligible for the exam or exam day. The exam itself proceeds as follows: Technical task, presumably with specified processing time and subsequent upload Examination discussion of 0.5 to 1 hour (discussion of the submitted technical task and examination questions) Online examination on examination platform

Tech

Why don't I receive an invitation to the web seminar?

A) Have you already booked the Cert Package? B) If yes, have you fully and correctly completed all exercises on the back of the flashcards? Only when you have achieved 100% in all flashcards will you receive the invitation to register for a web seminar appointment.

When booking, the following is required: "I certify that I am acting in a commercial or self-employed professional capacity." What does this mean? What if this is not the case?

We hereby protect ourselves, as the ZFU (Staatliche Zentralstelle für Fernunterricht) would like to protect end customers from unfair competition in this way. As a rule, we are booked directly by companies, since B2B does not fall within the scope of the ZFU. But of course you are welcome to book our e-learning at the conditions mentioned.

Does the e-learning exist in other languages?

Good news! Since spring 2020 we offer our English e-learning, also with English exam and international certificate. No VDI (national-specific) content is included here. Other languages (including Spanish) are in development.

Do I have to attend a course to get the certificate or take the exam?

Yes, the certificate providers (buildingSMART) stipulate that only a completed course or e-learning entitles the participant to take the examination. This is to ensure a uniform understanding of terminology and processes. Unfortunately, exceptions to this rule cannot be granted, even if you already have a lot of experience with BIM.

Company (Corporate) Solutions

Do you offer volume discounts or corporate solutions?

Very gladly, please let us know how many licenses you need and we will be happy to create an individual offer for you.

Can we get e-learning that is individualized to us?

This is of course possible. We can make adjustments regarding your corporate design, logos, color schemes and fonts. In addition, we can integrate your projects or products as well as add flashcards. We will be happy to make you an appropriate offer.

Can we open the e-learning in our LMS (Learning Management System) | our learning platform?

Our e-learning is based on the open data format SCORM and ensures that it can also be integrated into other LMSs. We will be happy to submit a corresponding offer to you.

Financing and recognition

Can I have the e-learning recognized by the Chamber of Architects?

Recognition depends on your respective state chamber. However, since e.g. AK Saxony fully recognizes the e-learning, in our experience you can submit an informal request for recognition with your certificate to your own chamber (with reference to a chamber that has already accepted our e-learning).

Do you accept education vouchers?

We accept education bonuses from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. These apply to persons who are employed for at least 15 hours/week and whose annual gross salary does not exceed €20,000.00. The BMBF will pay 50% of the gross price of a continuing education course, up to a maximum of €500.00. The difference is to be paid by the learners.
